With colder weather fast approaching, participants with Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference are working hard to ensure that those in need will have access to warm clothes to stay safe and comfortable this season. This effort kicks off with the 14th Annual Warm and Fuzzy Drive, set to take place throughout October.
This effort will encompass different phases and events:
Warm and Fuzzy Drive: Look for Hands4Hope’s big blue bins at various businesses and schools from Folsom to Placerville. The community can donate new and gently used jackets, coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, flannels, long sleeve shirts, pants, jeans, scarves, beanies, gloves; and brand new socks, underwear, sports bras, and pajamas. All sizes from infant to adult, and all genders, are needed. View specific locations here - more may be added soon!
Blanket Making Party: Our annual Blanket Making Party provides warm, soft blankets to distribute to those in need. A date will be announced soon for early November.
Winter Boutique: The Winter Boutique Committee will process all the donated items to launder as needed and prepare a pop-up “boutique shop” for distribution at events in early December. The committee works hard to make it a festive, helpful, and enjoyable experience for all "shoppers".
Apply to join the Winter Boutique Committee now – applications are being accepted through Friday, October 6. Youth in grades 7-12 are now invited to join, and adult participants are needed as well.
