In February 2017, Mary Riley joined Hands4Hope as an Encore Fellow of Intel. Through the Encore Fellowship Program Mary would assist Hands4Hope with its Human Resource needs, including: creating training material for staff, adult volunteers, and youth leadership on diversity and conflict resolution.
During her fellowship, Mary gave Hands4Hope valuable Human Resources insight, a fresh perspective on current policies and procedures, spearheaded decorations for the Benefit Dinner, and so much more! Mary is a positive team player who is encouraging, thoughtful, and always willing to help out. Her enthusiasm for empowering youth complemented and strengthened the Hands4Hope staff’s work, and her admiration of youth leaders’ accomplishments made reflections on the program even sweeter.
Executive Director Jennifer Bassett sums up Mary’s Encore Fellowship in stating, “Mary has been a godsend! She did so much in her short time with Hands4Hope. Mary reviewed, updated, and created human resource documents, updated job postings and descriptions, assisted in the posting and hiring of three positions, assisted in creating an employee development & team building plan, and acted as my sounding board,. On top of that, staff truly loved and respected her and she became a part of our H4H family.”
Hands4Hope is deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with Mary and see the positive impact that she had on the organization, community, and youth through her passion and philanthropic spirit.
