Hands4Hope selected Zach Milano as this month’s Youth Spotlight for his commitment to Team Hope and the positive energy, encouragement, and leadership that he continually brings to Youth Board meetings.
What is your school and grade? Also, how long have you been involved with H4H?
I’m a Junior at Oak Ridge High School and this is my second year being involved with Hands4Hope.
Why did you join Hands4Hope?
I joined Hands4Hope because a friend of mine said that I could help with running Team Hope. The position sounded perfect for me because I like working with kids. It has since proved to be exactly what I hoped for and I thoroughly enjoy each meeting.
How has Hands4Hope helped you in school, with your friends and family, and in life?
Hands4Hope has helped me become more comfortable when talking to adults on a formal basis. I have learned more about leading others and managing my time efficiently.
What has your experience been like since joining?
I have had a great time with everyone in Hands4Hope. Everyone is very inclusive, friendly, and driven to help the community. The adult leaders are all very supportive and encouraging. This all ties together to create a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experiences with Hands4Hope?
My time with Hands4Hope has been a very positive aspect of my life. I have matured so much during my short time here and I look forward to continuing with Team Hope and hopefully more as time goes on!
