Youth Spotlight: Joey Castellanos

Hands4Hope selected Joey Castellanos as this month's Youth Spotlight for his hard work and commitment as the President of the Ponderosa H4H Club and Treasurer of the Youth Board! Joey also helped in the process of getting the first ever H4H Graduation Cords approved!

What is your school and grade? Also, how long have you been involved with H4H?

I am a senior at Ponderosa High School and I have been involved in Hands4Hope for 3 years.

Why did you join Hands4Hope?

I joined Hands4Hope because my close friend Ethan Weiner was president of the Ponderosa Club at the time. He explained to me the many great opportunities Hands4Hope had to offer and before I knew it I was hooked!

How has Hands4Hope helped you in school, with your friends and family, and in life?

Hands4Hope has provided me with countless leadership skills to carry for the rest of my life. Public speaking was never a strong suit of mine but after several workshops with the other club leaders my confidence in public speaking has grown exceptionally!

What has your experience been like since joining?

My experience with Hands4Hope has been nothing short of spectacular! Over the years, starting as a club member, I have discovered more and more paths through Hands4Hope that I never would have imagined. Especially uncovering the countless ways to give back to my local community. The ability to see my impact make a true difference means so much to me and is something worth experiencing for anyone.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experiences with Hands4Hope? I am truly going to miss all of the amazing friends I’ve made from being a part of this organization!
