Hands4Hope has selected Jena Brasil as this month's Youth Spotlight! Jena has been volunteering with Hands4Hope for 3 years and has grown so much within the organization. She is a member of our Youth Board, volunteers at the GVCC Kid's Oasis, and leads our Project Birthday Committee!
What is your school and grade? Also, how long have you been involved with H4H?
I am a junior at Oak Ridge. I have been involved with Hands4Hope since my freshman year and it’s been such a great experience!
Why did you join Hands4Hope?
I joined Hands4Hope as a way to volunteer and get hours, and that grew into an amazing learning experience. The first project I joined was Project Birthday, which I still help with to this day. Eventually I also joined the Youth Board and Kids Oasis and I love it all, from the people I work with to the projects we work on!
How has Hands4Hope helped you in school, with your friends and family, and in life?
Hands4Hope has been such an eye opening experience and being able to work with such amazing people has lead to really strong friendships in my life! It’s so nice to be able to help the community while also allowing myself to grow socially.
What has your experience been like since joining?
Since joining, my experience has been incredible. I’ve learned so much from this organization about compassion and service and I wouldn’t change a thing!
Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experiences with Hands4Hope?
Hands4Hope is such a great organization and has helped me so much with developing my strengths as a leader. I appreciate everything that they have done for me and for the community!
