Our high school clubs have been hard at work this semester working on some inspiring projects!
The Ponderosa Club hosted a bake sale, with both human and dog treats, this past Saturday, December 1, at the Cameron Park Coach Lane Safeway. The Club is raising funds to benefit Foothill Dog Rescue.
Union Mine and Folsom High Schools are teaming up to support Lilliput Families. The Folsom club hosted a bake sale last Saturday, December 1, at the Folsom Prairie City Safeway to raise funds to buy gifts and gift cards for the Cookies with Santa event. They raised a total of $391! The Union Mine club will host the Cookies with Santa event for the Lilliput Kinship Program on December 14, 2018. Club member will provide treats, games, and crafts for the children to enjoy while waiting to visit with Santa.
The Oak Ridge Senior Committee helped serve dinner at the Mercy Creekview Senior Center Thanksgiving Dinner on November 20th.
The Youth Board selected 4 Directions Farm to receive support through their Spring fundraiser Supper4Seedlings. 4 Directions Farm is a nonprofit vocational arts program for individuals with disabilities. Their mission is to provide these individuals with job skills in a way that will truly allow them to engage their communities. The funds will be used to help establish a Christmas tree farm and a new lavender field on the farm. Save the date for Supper4Seedlings - April 6th, 2019
The first Leadership League Meeting of the year, for all high school leaders, was held November 14th. The Leadership League is comprised of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer from each of the five high school clubs, as well as the outreach committee leaders. The leaders shared committee and club news, met in job-alike groups, and reviewed their annual goals and progress.
