This month, Hands4Hope would like to recognize Ron and Darin Mittelstaedt as our Sponsors of the Month! The Mittelstaedts have witnessed the growth of the organization since the very beginning and strongly believe that enacting change begins with our youth. We are so thankful for the support they have given us this last year and we are so excited to them to be involved in our programs in 2020! To learn more about the Mittelstaedt Family and why they choose to support Hands4Hope, read below!
Tell us about your family.
Ron and I bought our first home in El Dorado Hills in 1990 when we married. We made many corporate moves but chose to come back here in 1997 because we wanted to raise our children here. This required us to start our own company, Waste Connections, so we could control our own destiny. We spent the next 15 years here with our three children, Bradley, 27, Timothy, 25 and Haley, 20.
The Company had rapid growth across the US and it became necessary to move the corporate headquarters to a more central location due to ease of travel. We relocated it to The Woodlands, TX (near Houston,) where we have spent the last eight years. We have semi-retired and have come back to this beautiful area where our dear friends and family live.
How did you hear about Hands4Hope?
I knew Jennifer Bassett just as she was forming Hands4Hope. I loved her mission and passion for helping others and teaching our youth to be philanthropic.
Of all the organizations you could donate to, why did you choose Hands4Hope?
My husband and I formed our non-profit foundation in 2002 with the purpose of helping youth. There are so many needs out there, but we believe starting with our youth, and aiding them in improving their direction can have a huge impact. Jennifer's insight and desire to help others is admirable.
Is there anything else that you would like to add?
Giving back and doing for others has always been a huge part of who we are, and we've tried to instill that in our children. We are proud to be a part of the organization and hope to watch many more youth learn this valuable mission.
