Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference Alumni often continue to stay connected with the organization no matter where their journey takes them, and through the Hands4Hope Alumni Association, they can maintain and expand their network and service opportunities well into the future. However, some Alumni were able to immerse themselves deeply by participating or leading Hands4Hope Committees and Community Outreach Opportunities over the Summer of 2024. We want to take a moment to put a spotlight on some of them and thank them for their continued contributions!

This summer I was a chaperone at the high school leadership camp for the second year! I also participated in Kids Zone and the School Supply Drive as an adult volunteer. I came back this summer because I wanted high school leaders and other young volunteers to be able to learn some of the great skills I’ve gained in leadership through Hands4Hope. I continue to use these skills in my life every day, and I come back in the hopes that I can help pass down those skills to the young leaders in the next generation of Hands4Hope youth! Staying involved helps me stay connected to my community, even when I can’t be there during the school year, and I love being able to participate even as an alumni.

This year I had the pleasure of returning to the Hands4Hope High School Leadership camp as an alumni staff member for the second time! I love being able to connect with the youth and helping inspire youth to continue volunteering into adulthood. I am so grateful that I am able to continue being a part of Hands4Hope because it helps me create a lasting impact and provides me with great connections moving through college!
Ava gallardo
My name is Ava Gallardo and this summer I was a Hands4Hope Media Intern. I also would help out around the office! I have always been inspired to stay involved with Hands4Hope because I love being able to give back to my community and help behind the scenes. I have been involved since I was in middle school and I have always enjoyed working with everyone. Especially this summer! My favorite memory I made this summer was when I was helping out in the Hands4Hope office and I helped put up the thank you display. I met many people in the office and talked with one of the regular volunteers and had so much fun, it didn’t even feel like work. I plan on staying involved as long as I can by either being involved in volunteer opportunities or when I come home for summer helping out around the office. My experience with Hands4Hope benefits me in all different aspects of my life. I have developed such good communication skills by being in leadership positions through Hands4Hope clubs. In addition I also gained good teamwork skills by working with other people on projects and volunteer opportunities. Overall, I have had such amazing experiences with Hands4Hope and I have enjoyed every opportunity they have given me!
Siena Campbell
For the past two summers, I served as a marketing intern for Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference, where I played a key role in creating fundraising pages for their annual Endless Summer Beach Party event. Being part of an organization dedicated to empowering youth and making a positive impact in the community was incredibly fulfilling. It was incredibly rewarding to see how much the fundraising pages I created positively affected the community I grew up in!
