Every year, the Hands4Hope-Youth Making A Difference Youth Board, which includes leaders from each club and committee in the Hands4Hope Education Program, plans a benefit event for a local nonprofit organization and the Hands4Hope Education Program.
This year, we chose to support Walk with Austin towards their goal of funding an All-abilities playground at Bass Lake in El Dorado Hills.
Our Youth Board planned and hosted a dinner called "Dine with Austin" which took place on April 2 at The Davies Family Inn at ShadowRidge Ranch in Placerville. The event was wildly successful with over 150 attendees, including the founding family of Walk with Austin. The event featured local youth performers, a raffle and a dessert dash for all guests.
Prior to this event, the Youth Board set a goal of raising $10,000 for Walk with Austin and the Hands4Hope Education Program. We are proud to report that we successfully raised nearly $10,900 through all of our fundraising efforts this year! We are grateful to everyone involved in the planning of our Annual Youth Board Fundraiser! All volunteers and guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed the beautiful location, decorations, and speakers.
